The Story of
Lucky Lab

Lucky Lab Coffee Co. started as a small, hopeful idea in Hawaii, found its footing in Charleston, SC, and finally rolled into Austin, Texas, in a little black coffee truck. That truck made its way all around the city, serving up craft coffee to thousands of wedding guests, local events, festivals, corporate offices, and loyal University of Texas students.
A simple “in search of” ad on a food truck site led us to an unexpected partnership with Urban Outfitters. They were scouting the best local mobile vendors to bring life to a new concept space near West Campus.
Being new to the industry, we said yes to everything and built an open-air trailer. We ended up the only concept to survive the space, and a year later, Urban Outfitters invited us to open our first brick-and-mortar right next door.
It might sound cliché, but we’ve never looked back. For the past six years, Lucky Lab has become a beloved spot for West Campus students, pups, faculty, neighbors, and friends alike—a place to grab great coffee and feel right at home.
Today, Lucky Lab Coffee Co. proudly serves six locations, including five on the University of Texas campus and our newest brick-and-mortar spot in Dripping Springs. We stay true to our roots by serving up generous helpings of southern hospitality with every cup of coffee and every scratch-made pastry to everyone who walks through our doors.
But we didn’t get here alone. We credit our success to our incredible culinary and barista teams, and all the talented, passionate people who believed in our vision from day one and helped bring it to life. Thank you. We wouldn’t be here without each and every one of you.
